Baptised and Sent – Preparatory Document for the Pre-Synodal Assembly
Baptised and Sent is the Preparatory Document for the Pre-Synodal Assembly of the Irish Synodal Pathway, which took place on 18 October 2025. A key moment in the Irish Synodal Pathway it was a shared journey of listening, prayer, and discernment as the People of God.
The document was prepared to support reflection and dialogue across parishes, schools, faith communities, and dioceses. It draws on the prayerful contributions gathered during the Spring Gatherings held across Ireland (February–May 2025), together with the ongoing work of the National Synodal Team. Through this process of communal discernment, a number of emerging priorities were identified, pointing to where the Spirit may be calling the Church in Ireland at this time.
You are warmly encouraged to:
- Read the document and reflect on the emerging priorities
- Share your reflections at home, in your parish, in your school, or wherever two or three gather in His name
- Pray for those involved in the synodal process, that the Holy Spirit may continue to guide our listening, dialogue, and discernment
The Synodal Pathway is not about a single event, but about fostering a lasting culture of listening, participation, and walking together as Christ’s people. Thank you for being part of this journey.
