Bishop Michael Router Speaks about Synodality and the Role of all the baptised in building a Synodal Church at the Archdiocese of Armagh’s Pilgrimage to Knock

Further to its recent Synodal Gathering the Archdiocese of Armagh held its annual pilgrimage to Ireland’s National Marian Shrine at Knock, Co. Mayo.  The pilgrimage took place on Sunday May 29th and a large crowd attended the ceremonies in the Basilica of our Lady Queen of Ireland.
People travelled from across the diocese and many lay apostolates were represented on the day.  The chief celebrant and preacher at the Mass was Bishop Michael Router, Auxiliary Bishop of Armagh.  Bishop Michael’s homily for the feast of the Ascension focused on the Irish Churches task of building a Synodal Church, and given that Our Lady appeared in 1879 at Knock to a group of lay people he spoke about the role all baptized Christians must play in constructing such a Church.
